Primary production is a quantitative expression of vegetative matter (e.g. harvestable yield) <\/SPAN><\/P> It may be conceptualised as a general expression of the sustainable agricultural production expectation and is a quantification of the long term and basic environmental status of a location under rain fed (i.e. non irrigated) conditions.
